After the CEO of X, Elon Musk, wrote about the great improvements they made to Grok in a new update, users began to see a sudden shift in Grok’s behavior. Instead of being an unbiased tool to help users identify and summarize posts, Grok began to spew racist and antisemitic rhetoric. In one instance, the chatbot began to call itself ‘MechaHilter’ and became an avid holocaust denier. This wasn’t the first time a chatbot became an antisemitic machine; Microsoft had a similar problem in 2016. It is clear that these chatbots are being fed this information and are simply recreations of the creator’s ideology.
