Through this interview with Kenza Bryan, Rogin was able to break down the environmental damages GenAI causes. There’s also a small conversation criticizing the unnecessary damage major companies like Google and Amazon cause.
Although it is short, Rogin’s interview with Kenza Bryan makes this somewhat complicated topic very digestible to viewers. Neither party is blaming AI itself, but instead the companies that are using up fossil fuels and displacing their resources. I have a lot of problems with generative AI, but my biggest concern is the effect on the environment, especially since we are quickly falling into great environmental consequences.
