Qualcomm’s stock jumped up 11% after the company announced that they were bringing in new AI chips to the market, calling them AI200 and AI250 chips. This move from Qualcomm makes them the new rival for companies like NVIDIA and AMD, who right now are at the height of the chip race in the AI tech world. These two companies create most of the AI chips, so this is a new way for things to be split up in the market. According to Qualcomm, these chips will not be used to train new AI models, and are also a part of a way to lower power consumption from the chips. The company also notes that consumers will not have to purchase Qualcomm servers to have access, instead only having to purchase individual chips or portions of the server if they want to.

While this article went a bit above my head, it was interesting to see a company rival the huge giants that are spearheading the AI world. I thought this would be good to show people that there are more advancements that were announced just today, that show that AI chips are getting more and more advanced. This also showed that companies like NVIDIA and AMD can be rivalled with.
