After a series of lawsuits, Character. AI will only allow users who are 18+ to use the app. New software will be created to insure users are the age that they input within the app, as well as direct links to resources like the National Sucidie Preventaion Hotline. Character Technologies (the company behind Character.AI) is not the first company to create systems to help protect underage users. OpenAI now gives parents the option to link their teen’s account to their own to monitor their usage.
