Dehumanizing and Dystopian: How Gen Z-ers See Work

Grose, Jessica. “Dehumanizing and Dystopian: How Gen Z-Ers See Work.” New York Times, New York Times, 5 Nov. 2025, www.nytimes.com/2025/11/05/opinion/gen-z-work.html.

In this article, Grose discusses how the onslaught of AI has left many members of the younger generation feeling hopeless regarding the job market. This comes from AI’s capacity to take over many entry-level positions as well as how AI is now being used in the hiring process. Either way, young folk are left feeling demoralized by the AI gauntlet they face.

I think this article offers an interesting perspective on AI in the workplace because it focuses not just on how AI is used in the workplace, but on how employers are using it in the hiring process. I also understand the feeling, as I have had a great deal of trouble in my own past job hunting endeavors.
